As I remember (and it was a long time ago!) The gears on the FS1E were 4 straight down. I'm sure you'll soon get the hang of it. Looking at the photo mate, do you think its summer already SHORTS! I've only just got rid of my longjohns. I was cutting the grass today with a fleece on. Mind you I'm the opposite to a lot of people, I don't even own a pair of shorts!!! Have fun mate!

Is 05.10 really a time of day? Its been lovely Syming weather here lately. There has been a big yellow thing in the sky as well (Mrs Jenksy says its the sun, I'll take her word for it!). Hampshire have started their cricket campaign with a defeat against Sussex, so all in all summer (the rainy season) is on its way. Been doing gardeny things this weekend but I did give the old Symply a wash and brush up and checked me tyres, oil, lights etcetera. Hope you have good day at work, and that you are managing to do some Syming down under, beats me how you don't fall off the bottom of the globe! Take care!

Aw i know and sorry joe1998 if i made you blush..still a cutie though ;-) .Weather cooling down a bit now as we get into Winter months, 68 degrees today.Really pleased that my Son has joined me over here and has got himself a place on a 'Work as you learn' scheme in the local scooter shop so that's the scoots servicing sorted out. The biggest problem on cleaning the scoot is the sand, it just seems to blow up everywhere. Not that i am complaining Work/home /Beach party. Have to admit i have picked up a custom 125cc bike on Aussie e-bay that was an unfinished project.$350 and runs and all new so Son is using it as a College based project for the practicals. How do we not fall off the Earth down under?... have you seen the way they drive lol....Lead in the boots mostly the right one :-)

When I see youngsters on bikes I really feel my age. I feel as if I should be buying a zimmer and not another two wheeler. Joe 1998, once you get the hang of gears it will open up a new side of Biking for you. Good Luck.

Ok i was 14 years old and it was a rusted out Datsun 120y (they all were rusted out). Took out the end wall of a Council Garage enclosure. If it was not for the Wire reinforcement would have probably kept going ;-)

I had a 120y, a 1977 model and yes they rusted before your eyes lol. 76,000 on the clock when it finally went to Mr Trents. As the chap in the garage said on it's last MOT, " i can't weld any more as there is nothing left to weld too".Engine as you would expect from our Jap Friends was still as fresh as the day it left the Factory and the push button radio still worked. That i am afraid is as good as they were .

Mind you mechanically I think the Japanese cars were far better, you were left with a good engine and a pile of rust. To be honest I wouldn't buy a European car now, My last car was a Kia and I now have a Hyundai, good value and good quality! Same as Sym I suppose, if I was to buy another brand it would be Kymco because its Taiwanese! But to be honest my Symply does what I want it to so why change?
