As you may have noticed i have updated the banner at the top of the page with one that i made myself! I think it looks good however any and all suggestions are appreciated. The banner may appear differently as it is set to repeat the picture depending on how much the viewer is zoomed in on the page itself. Any other ideas for improvements are as always greatly appreciated. Some i may not be able to complete because while i am a dab hand at Photoshop (if i do say so myself) I'm not too good at coding. But I'm willing to give anything a try! Thanks guys and keep the rubber tarmac down!

I enjoyed making it. I really don't get to use my Photoshop skills enough. The idea was it would perhaps bring a bit more interest. I do plan to make a few more modifications that may make the board look better. You may have noticed the most recent change being the New post and No new posts icons. Further more i am considering buying a domain name (symownersuk.co.uk). For one thing its only £2.99, Secondly, for proboards to continue the hosting (for free with limits and adverts...i use an adblocker so i don't see them anyway) with a custom domain name is only $13.99 or in our terms (at current market values of course) £8.33 per year. So all together for us to not be .boards.net and be a proper .co.uk i'm sunk for a little more than £12. Its very tempting but i'm not sure we really have the memberbase yet. But is that because we look cheap and tacky (up until now with my swish new modifications ) and would a .co.uk website bring in more members. I'm interested in your opinions so let me know what you think! Watch this space for more changes! (i enjoy tinkering with these boards too much!) Bailo P.s. Sorry for all the brackets (i get a little overexcited). <<<< See what i mean!

From a personal point the .co.uk seems a good idea as it clearly identifies the uk nature of the site. On the other hand our European and world wide sym friends are always welcome. I do think as well that this forum has a good layout and as I said before the recent modifications you have made are very tasteful and in my humble opinion improve the look of the site without making it to flashy. Trouble is I am fairly conservative in these things and maybe a touch old fashioned. Anyway mate keep up the good work and tinker away (I like brackets to! and exclamation marks).

I think this forum is excellent and as I have mentioned in other posts there is massive potential for a UK Owners group and this forum will be at the heart of it. An active forum definitely attracts people. What we probably need to do more is reach out to SYM riders. Bailo has already mentioned Google ads, I have mentioned flyers which we can leave at dealers and on SYM's where we see them parked. A SYM Owners YouTube channel maybe another means of attracting people to the group - but this would take time. Maybe we could also get SYM in the UK interested in supporting the group? I would like to have a tinker with an Owners Group website (similar to MZRC website www.mzridersclub.com/ ) with a link directly to this forum from it, with the forum being promoted on every page. People such as yourselves could be editors to the website as well. As I say, so much potential, but things do seem like they are starting to happen with talk of the SYMmering camp etc. Keep up the good work guys.

Basic idea for an intro flyer for the forum which can be downloaded and placed on SYM's.

We are on our way to becoming a decent group able to do all the things on the list. It's good to have enthusiastic people to drive things forward mate and provide a catalyst! I like that word "catalyst". Keep em coming mate!

Here's a quick redraft of the flyer as promised. What do people think about contacting the overseas owners groups about fixing a day for an 'International Ride Your SYM Day'? This would be something that is quite easy to set up (pick a day basically) everyone could easily participate, nearby riders could meet up, send photos etc. A similar event is pretty big on the Jawa-CZ calendar www.jawaday.org/

I've saved that flyer and will print a few and keep them under the seat for when I encounter other potential members on the road.
