I wanted to start a thread where we can talk about our accessories if we have any. As we established in another thread we have onboard cameras, Me and Simon have just bought the SJ4000. I also have a Scala Rider Q1 which i use for taking phone calls and listening to my music on long trips. I used to have a Scala Rider Solo but after a few years i felt the need to be able to play my music over bluetooth as well rather than have the cable so i upgraded it to the Q1 which means i can now listen to the built in radio...my music orhave my GPS instructions routed to my headset. Anyone else have any equipment for onboard entertainment and/or riding enhancement?

I've looked at music systems a few times over the years when I used to commute for longer distances on my 125's. I never took the plunge as I just preferred to have all my faculties (such as they are...) paying attention to the traffic and assorted numpties on the road. Nowadays I'm not sure how many longer trips I'd be making on a 50cc, although I am looking to plan some decent trips around the Edinburgh and Lothian area when the sun re-appears and hopefully the new video camera will come into it's own. Do you find the music in any way distracting ?

I didn't know there were so many accessories you could get for 2 wheels. Trouble is I find I need to keep my wits about me, I think I would be to easily distracted listening to my Euphoric Clubland music whilst out scootering! I like singing along to ultrabeat, sash and funnily enough scooter when I'm in the Hyundai (minus Mrs Jenksy of course) but on the Symply its probably not a good idea. Must say its great watching other peoples trips recorded on their cameras but personally I can't be assed to get the gear and do it myself! Its amusing/worrying when you see the behaviour of some the other driver/riders captured on video. And its not always cars either!! Look forward to more trips to view soon I hope. Have fun with the new toys! They are bloody marvellous.

I don't find it overly distracting. I have it on enough so i can hear it but enough that i can hear the traffic going past. I've been riding with my music for 4 of my 5 years of riding and i can't say Ive ever found it any more distracting than i may have done had i been in a car with the radio on.

Think a lot of it is me to be honest. I do find that I need to concentrate a lot when I'm on the road (car or scooter). I suppose I'm not what youd call a "natural" driver and as such I am aware that I need to really pay attention. I only play music in my car when the roads are clear and I have plenty of space and time to react if you get my drift! Anyway off to get fish and chips in a mo (Friday is chip night in the Jenksy house), just for me and baby jenksy as Mrs Jenksy says she's over done it this Christmas. Bet she nicks some my chips though. Good thing is I get to ride my scooter to the chippy!!!

I know what you mean about not being a natural driver. I got driving lessons for my 21st birthday (26 years ago!!). After 40 lessons and 2 tests I somehow passed but to be honest I hated the whole thing and hardly ever drove again.
I got into scooters when I needed to find a quick and cheap way of getting home when I was working backshift, and noticed that my long forgotten license allowed me to ride a bike. From the first I always felt safer on a bike, it's something to do with the width of the vehicle, I just feel more in control.
