A telling off for Mr Jenksy for doubting the Yamaha and Vespa. My first moped at 16 years old the very one photoed the Yamaha Passola.A hand-me down from Mother when she purchased a new Honda Vision.Laughed at by all my Friends who were blessed with the sporty DT and RD 50's and a Kawasaki AR50 also was in the 'groovy gang'. Soon to be re named the Yamaha 'pissallover' when said Friends realised that by the time they had wound their own sporty peds through the gearbox i was long gone . The Vespa. A recent addition to the senior 'groovy gang'. What can you say, she's a classic in design. The Symply 50. Reliable ,dependable and i love her.....so as a fellow user of such a machine Mr Jenksy you are forgiven Hope you are all well and having a good weekend. Keep SYMing.

A full day spent in Paris and there are scooters everywhere!! A couple of things I've noticed, firstly there are loads of 3 wheelers, a type of scoot I hardly ever see in Scotland, and secondary I haven't seen one cheapo Chinese machine anywhere, they are all big brand names.

Scooters scooters everywhere and not a Sym in sight. I wonder if 3 wheelers are so popular with the French as they have no sense of balance! Or maybe all that French vino they drink makes them very unsteady on the ride home! Glad your having a good time mate, great fun scooter spotting. So I'm not the only one who does it, wait until I tell Mrs Jenksy! Take care mate!

I do like the Japanese machines I must say. Italian machines well I admit they do look quite smart. When I was a nipper of 16 it was the old Yamaha(ha) FS1E that was very popular. I was never into biking or scootering at that point but cousin Jenksy had one and as I remember it was fairly quick for a 50cc. He went on to an RD250 after that. Did have a Honda CB200 for a few months myself but I really wasn't interested and soon sold it. I liked the old pushbike!

Bike: SYM Symply 50 2014

Have found myself looking at other scooters to see what they are when out and about. Have a Symply 125 at local college but looking at it the duct tape holding the body work together shows it has not had an easy life and it is only a 63 plated one.

Back from Paris and a spot of serious scooter spotting. Saw some more Sym's as I traveled about, but in terms of numbers they are far behind the Yamaha's, Vespa's, Honda's etc. Still didn't see a single cheapo Chinese bike anywhere.

That is unless you saw the French Peugeot scooters, which are made in China. Mind you my Symply is also made in China!!! Welcome home from your travels, hope a good time was had.

Well that's a fair point, what isn't made in China these days. However there were no Baotains or such like brands anywhere I could see. Had a great time thanks, lovely city, first time I've been for 26 years !!

No mate. Symplys are made in China not Taiwan! Under licence in a Sym factory but still in China!
