Decided to splash out on one of these Equisafety hi-vis waistcoats. Saw them on Dragons Den a few months ago and really liked the idea. The reviews I've read all seem to suggest they really make a difference to the way other motorists regard you. The obvious reason for this is the design resembles a police jacket at first glance although they are entirely legal. They are pricey for a hi-vis but on a low powered machine I think they could make a real difference. Equisafety Motorcycle Waistcoat

That looks very smart mate. Hope you don't get the blame for any crashes! "I was reading that blokes hi-vis and went up the arse of the bus in front" haha! Its surprising though how much diffence a fairly simple variation makes to a tried and trusted hi-vis design.

You do realise that you are going to be mistaken for a travelling Traffic Warden and will end up MOOSHED! Sorry, bad idea. Don't like these vests and probably never will. Now that I have aired my opinion let the debate begin.

I bought one a few months ago and on my white Sym Jet it makes a big difference when drivers look in their rear view mirror and see me following them Attachments:

Have one i use when cycling. Very much noticed a difference for cycling when on the day bike.Did get a very nice wide distance when over taken. For a 50cc not so sure i will be honest. They have time to actually read it before pushing past. Saying that anything to catch the eye is better than nothing.

Remember some years ago now when I cycled to work, I had the flashing LED lights (2 back and 1 front) and in my opinion they are some of the greatest things ever made for safety. I used to wear jeans or what ever and an ordinary jacket, coat or fleece depending on the weather. A colleague of mine said "I hope you don't mind me saying but your bike is noticeable but you are not and when I was passing you your lights are no longer visible and neither are you!". So I thanked him and went to tesco on my way to site and bought a reflective yellow zip up vest to wear when riding (£1.50). Simple but effective! On my scooter I always have a fleece underneath and a thick padded fluorescent yellow (with reflective strips) jacket, summer or winter. Must admit the old legs aren't that protected just jeans or cords! Oh and motorcycle gloves of course for the hands. I expect I'll get a few tellings off now from my fellow Symites!!! My shoulders are broad!

I bet some of our younger members haven't seen a turntable. Listen to me, anyone would think I was ancient. Must admit some of the technology looses me! Thank god for youngsters I say.

I remember playing various board games with my kids. We had a train set as well and played with bats and balls at the park and went crab fishing, all sorts of things. Simple but fun. My lad enjoyed his play station but he wasn't stuck on it for days on end. He played for a boys football team as well and old Jenksy used to run the line and help out coaching (no checks required back then!). Baby jenksy used to like riding her bike and playing with her dollies. Lots of picnics in the new forest and days out on the train (free travel for us old railwaymen and their families!). Great times. Both grown up now, more so than the old man. Now they help me with the techy stuff!
