Afternoon Found a small packet on the Doorstep this morning containing the new Ignition Barrel for the SYM 50. So down to the Workshop i trot. Have had the Battery on a gentle trickle charge for a day couple of days to wake it up.You never know if they are past it until you try. A lot of drilling and a few choice words later the new ignition fitted (now i know how you open the seat) .A few Coffee's and a few litres of fresh go-go juice in the tank.Check there is a spark at the plug, now there is a journey in itself. Kickstart lever is not there so is the Battery good.Few presses of the start button and all i get is some strange squealing noise.Give it a few seconds and try again.Squeal squeal, then slight catch of the starter motor.Try again another squeal.Time for coffee and a pinch of amber leaf (not recommended ) to the Youngsters out there, does horrible things to the breathing. Try again, starter kicks in straight away and engine fires for about 2 or 3 seconds then cuts out.Try again and starts up and runs so give the throttle a crack to get some fuel through. Ticked over though a bit up and down so will be taking the Carb out later for a strip and clean. Engine sounded ok. No nasty knocks and bangs from the transmission when had the Engine speed up and the rear wheel turning. So phase one over. She speaks again after over a year of silence. Now back to the Coffee

Now back to the Coffee Well done mate. The starters on the Symply do make a funny squawking sound if they are left for a long time or its cold! Have no idea why, I think most other owners have noticed it! They do like to be used and not sit around for to long. Hope you get it on the road soon! Like you I find coffee most enjoyable! Tea at work but coffee at home! Ciggies are generally reserved for holidays or if I'm working with my mate Cliff when we have "a naughty boy day" and splash out on 10 fags!! Have a good weekend mate!

Cheers. Not used to the modern wonders of electric starts on two wheels. Most of what i own has an engine and pedals (Tomos excluded). Not an alcohol drinker really myself unless i am at a camping moped rally somewhere across Europe and have been known to open a can. One can last all night :-).Think that really is because i tend to do things on impulse and that normally involves on a moped or getting into the rather tired old LDV Pilot (ex Royal Mail though yet to fail) and heading off somewhere. Sort of example, have to pick my 12 year old Lad up in an hour from his Friends and thinking perhaps then head to Hull to jump on the Ferry tomorrow to Belgium for a few days to visit Moped Mates. Sort of thing we love doing just out of the blue :-) Though he has been out mountain biking all day so perhaps a pick up with a pair of tongs and drop into a bath may be in order first. Just allow my self 1 strip of filters a day so never more than 6 Roll ups a day.
Have a good weekend

I have 2 puch Maxi in the Garage that were my Grandfathers and Grandmothers. They use to follow each other on them when they went out and about. You are more than welcome to come and collect them if you would like them for your collection. They are complete and untouched since the day they were wheeled in and covered up.I do not ask anything for them and the V5's i have them both mopedmark.
