Local Elderly lady with the QT50 phones me in a panic saying her throttle cable broke and she needs to be able to use it first thing. Thinking well you wont get a new cable that quick then picturing the cable end to throttle slide in carb and just a barrel end at throttle twist grip. Armed with Soldering iron and mountain bike gear cable in the tool box,a trim of cable and a new barrel soldered we got the job done. Will order a new genuine cable for her so just a temp replacement :-)

Well thought out. I suppose if you know your stuff then it isn't as remarkable as we who don't know think it is.

Never touch anything modern now. If i can't fix it at the road side it's of no interest to me.One reason i like the SYM Symply, New enough to be less trouble but still has a carb and not fuel injection and a basic engine. Still not use to having everything enclosed though. Use to bikes with all the mechanics where you can see them without removing a mile of plastic.

I would probably end up breaking most of the plastic covers trying to remove them. Think i will just stick to basics, oil change etc.

Must admit that it gets a bit fiddly and time consuming trying to take covers off! And putting them back on! You have a big pile of screws to loose as well (when you kick over the container that you put them in for safe keeping, or is that just Jenksy!).
