All the best you SYMers Not sure how good the interweb will be Oh my, that is a change of life mate! Its a shame when things are spoilt where you are. Do you have simple things like electric power and running water to hand or are you doing the full "wild west frontier" bit? It'll certainly be an adventure for you and probably for the Symply! If you don't have a try you'll never know will you. Old Mr and Mrs Jenksy are very much Towns folk and whilst we like to visit the wilderness (for wilderness read New Forest, yes I know, its hardly wild!) We do enjoy our modest house in Southampton. Half way between the cricket ground (one of my summer pleasures) and the football ground (once or twice a year with Nipper Jenksy). Your certainly a resourceful chap and I hope it all works out for you. Keep us posted and take care. Maybe you could start a Sym colony in Wales!

I remember you mentioning wanting to do something like this on our Dorchester Symply jaunt. I was not sure if it was a pipe dream so to speak. Well done you for taking the plunge and following your Heart to live the Dream. Hope it all works out for you housey.

What an amazing thing to do, I would LOVE to do something like that in the future. Don't get me wrong Edinburgh is a beautiful city and I'm lucky to live here but changing to a slower pace would suit me fine. Good luck housey, that's really inspirational.

When I lived on the farm, we used to have a generator to provide us with electricity. When it broke down (not a regular occurrence but it did happen), we used to live by oil lamps and Rayburn, which was peat fired, I loved those days. We used to entertain ourselves at night by having a mini caelidh (I think that's how it's spelt). My turn used to be a tune on the harmonica. Hope you have as many happy days as I did. Fond memories to look back on.

Here's a thought, why don't you rent out some of your land to a local paintballers/airsoft group for Mil/Sim manoeuvres. That would give you a bit of income to go towards the upkeep of your land. Just another of Lesley's silly thoughts.

Just to say thank you for the kind support, was expecting most to think i had lost the plot.Have a small Honda Generator giving some power but that is the last resort to use when needed. Came here for peace not to sit next to an engine thumping away.Regarding water, have a hell of a lot of crates of Lidls finest bottle water at 0.25p ago just until i get a rain water collector set up. Have been planning this for along time, always would be North Wales as such an area of Beauty. Was just waiting for the right Woodland to come up for sale. £38,000 has got me little bit of tranquility. No more Neighbours from hell. No more earplugs :-)
Take care all
