I've been having a serious think about upgrading to a 125cc scoot. My wee Sym has served me well, but it's not overly keen on Scottish winters, and the option of a few more CC's extends what I can realistically use it for. My plan at the moment is to keep the Sym until at least August which will hopefully see it successfully through it's first MOT, and then sell it on (I'm thinking around the £500 mark ??). I'd then do a CBT (my 4th over the years), and buy a 125cc. There is no longer a Sym dealer in Edinburgh, and even if there was the lure of Honda would probably be too strong. There is a great Honda dealership here which I've used in the past. I'm thinking of either the Vision 110 or the PCX 125; at the moment I'm leaning towards the PCX which although more expensive looks a really high spec bike. Both bikes have fuel injection which makes a massive difference when it comes to cold weather starting, or using after a period of inactivity. Anyway before all that I have some saving to do

There's a Sym dealer in Kirkcaldy that I would recommend. They are called CoolBikes and you can contact them on 01592 592600.

No more Orbit!!! A 125 is certainly a lot easier to get around on I would think. No need to avoid faster roads and probably easier cold starting. You really can't wrong with Hondas either I think. In the mean time keep on Syming mate! Had a short spin today, cut through Bitterne village, and Thornhill estate to miss Burseldon Road with all its traffic lights and people in a hurry (would be easy on a 125). Won't be upping my cc's a 50 is just the job for old Jenksy!

Simon0867 if you fancy a cheap Fiddle 125 then get in touch with CoolBikes (ask for Dave). It will need re-registered but you could probably pick it up for a song. The story is, it was knocked over at somebody's house, the insurance company said it wouldn't be worth the bother and category C'd it. The bike has a couple of scratches on the bodywork but no panel damage at all. Had I not already had one, I would be chasing it up.

Thanks very much sixpence, but I have to say I am leaning towards the Honda PCX. One was parked next to me today so I gave it a good look over and it's impressive, as are all the reviews I've read so far. Much appreciate your input though - Simon

The PCX, I like the yellow version best.
