Went up to the big Edinburgh Honda dealer Two Wheels on Sunday to have a proper look at both the Vision 110 and the PCX125. The Vision is a decent little bike but quite basic when seen next to the PCX, and lacks the extra grunt of the 125 machine. Spoke to one of the guys who went through all the features and offered me a trade in on the Sym which I wasn't expecting. He's offered me £300. My original plan was to put the Sym through it's MOT in August and then go down the Gumtree route. I was planning to ask around the £400 mark which is the guide price for it's age and mileage. Obviously I'll be accepting a bit less if I go down the Two Wheels route, however I don't have to pay for the MOT, or deal with the numpties ("swap it for an X-Box mate??") that you come across on Gumtree. Two Wheels also have an immaculate 2015 spec PCX with only 1200 miles on the clock sitting in their showroom right now and it's £600 less than the cost of a new one !!
Taking the Sym up tomorrow so they can give it the once over, if all OK I might just put a deposit down and arrange my CBT.
Have to say I'll be sorry to see my wee Orbit go, it's been a lot of fun and got me back into scootering after a long break, however the lure of a Honda and those extra cc's might just be too strong.

How do you fancy a Fiddle 3 complete with Italian Style chrome package? Seriously thinking about trading in the Fiddle for a JoyMax 300. It's yours (at a reasonable price) if you want it.

The old PCX is in another league. Very smart indeed and pretty high tech (compared to a Symply). Worth the trade in just to be free of the selling on hassle I think. The little 50cc Symply is fine for commuting and running around or for going on longer "adventures". But it does have its limitations, as do all 50's. Hope your going to post some trips for us to enjoy mate. I have enjoyed my little spins around Scotland's fair capital. Glad you have enjoyed the old Orbit mate they aren't bad little scooters are they? Hope all goes to plan mate and take care.

Where is everyone going ?? Feel a bit guilty planning the Annual Trip to Holland and Belgium , Van and Peds when the Lad Finishes for the School Holidays at the end of the week.Could never give up the Puchs, Tomos and CZ's etc so may have to SYM Symply at bit more.

I saw 3 PCX;s earlier, one black and one white, quite a smart machine indeed. Must admit I'm really fond of the Fiddle 3 too, but it's too similar to my Combiz minus cargo capability so no point getting one. I'd like something a bit faster and with a bigger tank. I've got 2 trips to North London and one to Birmingham coming up in August. Of course if I ever got a bigger bike I would still be keeping the Combiz.

Mrs Jenksy is flying me off to Portugal at the start of August for 2 weeks at an all inclusive, adult only hotel. We aren't great fans of kids when we go away! Like she says she works with them all year! I always think the "adult only" bit makes it sound like a swingers holiday!!! Try not to get to chummy with people on holiday as most of them are teachers and want to talk shop with Mrs Jenksy! I'm alright no one wants to talk to a Network Rail Electrician, "what do you do?" They say and when I tell them it's "oh" and they glaze over, just how I like it! I'm a miserable old git really.

Jenksy you are a lucky man. We were at an "adults only" hotel in Tunisia back in May, like you neither of us are keen on having screaming kids around when we are trying to relax. If only it had been an "adults only" flight home...

Well I'm now set on the road to a new bike ! Thanks VERY much to Sixpence for the offer of the Sym Fiddle 3, but my heart was set on a return to Honda. Took the wee Orbit up to Two Wheels today so they could give it the once over. Everyone happy so I put my deposit down on the second hand PCX that I'd spotted on their website. It is in beautiful condition, you really wouldn't know it have ever been used. Only 1200 miles on the clock which for a Honda is barely out the crate. I'm surprised how light and easy to maneuver it is considering it's a fair size. They were quite happy with the trade in deal once they'd inspected the Sym so tomorrow my wee 50cc and I will take a final ride into my work, and then up to the dealership later for it to be handed over. I actually feel quite sad about it as the Sym has been lots of fun. You do get very attached to scooters. I remember watching my Honda Dylan being carted away after it had been wrecked by the 4x4 driver, I was in bits ! (mind you so was it !!) I might film my final ride for posterity prepare for some sombre music...) Anyway onward and upward. The main issue now is arranging the pesky CBT. I assumed Two Wheels would be able to sort me out quickly, but they are booked until September ! There is another company that is actually nearer where I live so left them a message and hopefully they can arrange something sooner. In the meantime I shall be scooterless again. Below is a picture of my new ride. Hope I won't get drummed out of the Sym UK Forum !!

No more having to think if you can keep up with the traffic on the faster roads either!

Smart looking bike. Do not think you will ever be pushed out the Forum Simon. Lets be honest we all have our attachments to other bikes. I probably am the worst offender there!! Had a couple of touring cyclists stop by and ask for a re fill in their water bottles and before you know it they at my offer are camping in the garden for a few days. Lad's in his element having long distance cycling folk in the home. It's not just about what you ride but the people who you log into see what they have been up to. Friends :-)
