About six years ago I took a new scoot I had recently bought (a Yamaha X-Max) on a run down to my sisters new house in the Borders village of Stow. Never got there as half way down I misjudged a bend, wrecked the bike and injured my back. My involvement in scootering ended soon afterwards. Every time I've gone past that bend on the bus since I've vowed I'd one day try again. With the arrival of the PCX I at last had an opportunity. This weekend was the annual Stowed Out Music Festival which the village has staged for the last four years. The weather forecast was fine so off I went. I wasn't as nervous as I expected to be, and despite a strong wind that picked up, I completed the trip without incident (and back home again today). It's nothing life changing, but is a small tick on my list of challenges still to face so I'm happy (and I saved a £9.50 bus fare !!). Below is the PCX parked up outside my sisters house.

Well done mate. Funny thing the old brain. No matter how much you tell yourself how irrational these feelings are it still nags at you and takes a lot of courage to overcome! Glad you succeeded. Sounds like the PCX is doing a good job mate. Just watching the Edinburgh Tattoo, American band with their chin straps hooked under their noses!! Looks uncomfortable to me. Certainly a different spectacle to how it used to be (oh what an old git I am). Anyway not had a chance to Sym about over the weekend. Busy out and about with Mrs Jenksy and hiding from the rain. I'll get out tomorrow though, got some bits to pick up for Mrs Jenksys birthday. I have to get some candles for her cake (hope I can fit that many in my top box haha). She is working in the morning so I can get the cover off the old Symply and run my errands! Off out for Chinese with the kids and their other halves to celebrate!

Thanks Jenksy. Just back from watching the end of Festival fireworks over the castle, as impressive as ever. That's the mayhem over for another 48 weeks !!

Sorry to hear about your previous off. Good to hear you've conquered your fear. BTW I know that street, don't know why but I recognise the green entrance way.

Good for you buddy! Sometimes we've got to face our challenges head on and fight through them!
