Was not sure where to post this under the titles.Would just like to tell you all that a member of the Forum, i believe known as jonscoot passed away on Wednesday due to complications with an Asthma Attack.Jon was my Brother and his life revolved around mopeds/travel and just living, to be honest. He recently came home from a trip to Belgium with his life long Friend and traveler Paul to collect bikes and parts for Puch. He loved his wee bike and often referred to this forum, hence my mentioning this.
Regards Brenda

Very sorry to hear this Brenda. I'm fairly new to the forum and never knew Jonscoot personally, (only through this forum), but his friendliness and enthusiasm for the group shone. He was the instigator for the proposed SYM Owners camping weekend in Somerset (the first official group camp). He will be sadly missed. Thoughts are with you, family members and friends.

That's terrible news. I'm so sorry to hear that Jonscoot is no longer with us. I never got to meet him but we communicated many times through our forum. I live up the road in Southampton and was hoping to get the chance to meet up in the not to distant future. I admired his "trips" on his little symply (I ride the same scooter). I always referred to the longer ones as "epic adventures"! I got the feeling from the forum that he very much enjoyed life. I was only wondering tonight on the way back from the old folks if Jonscoot was back from his Belgium trip, that's why I went on the forum tonight. I will certainly miss him and although we never met I thought of him as one my mates! Thanks for letting us know and my thoughts are with you and the rest of Jonscoots family and friends. Jenksy

I am too very saddened to hear this. I have only been a member here a short while and I never got to meet Jonscoot but I did exchange a few posts with him on the forum and was looking forward to the camping trip he proposed where he offered to lend me a tent and sleeping bag.
May I offer my deepest condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace mate.

Just read the post and realised the flyer wrapped around my throttle grip advertising this forum had a hand written message from a jonscoot.Obviously a man who enjoyed taking 50cc peds to the extremes and you cannot but respect that.Though our paths only crossed in the way of a flyer goodnight, God Bless you Jonscoot

Would just like to thank you all for your kind words. It's that kind of companionship that i am sure will make this forum go far and build up great following. Was sat in Jons garage this afternoon just looking at his 'little world' as he called this cluttered space.Sat center stage was of cause the little Symply and i kind of thought i'm going to carry that little bike on to all the places Jon intended to take her.She carries his spirit of adventure.Hope that does not seem to mad (i am quite sane really).
Does that make me your first Female Member??
Love, Peace and bless all you guys on here :-)

You are more than welcome to join us Brenda and yes i believe it does. It doesn't seem mad at all, I'm sure he'd like to know his Symply is still being put to good use. I was thinking maybe, when we get the following on the forum up enough of maybe doing some sort of memorial ride where we could raise some money in one form or another to go to a charity of your choice? As i said, its early days yet, but I'd like make that happen on an annual basis or something. Just an idea.

Welcome aboard Brenda. I'm sure Jonscoot would be over the moon. Hope you have plenty of fun riding the Symply. Had mine a year now 50cc of pure power! Well it is when the traffics at a standstill on the way home from work and old Jenksy passes it all on the outside. And to be fair a lot of cars do move in a bit if they spot me in the mirror. Once again welcome, nice to have a lady Symite to chat with as well. Most of all enjoy yourself.
