Hello! Welcome to the Board. These forums are for anyone in the UK who owns an SYM Vehicle. Anything from the Symphony to the MaxSym. The ultimate goal of these forums is to be able to make friends and organise meets and/or rides, with your fellow SYM Riders and hopefully, friends.
I'm very much looking forward to seeing pictures, exchanging stories and meeting other people. I really hope this board takes off as SYM is becoming an ever bigger presence in the scooter market in the UK.
Please bear in mind the board is still under construction currently, but hopefully that won't deter you! If i miss the inclusion of any bikes, just shoot me a PM and i'll see what i can do.
Welcome Again! Bailo

Hi,
Im chris from the UK, i currently own a sym symphony sr 125, its been a great bike for me. i have ordered the new sym joymax 125i and still waiting for delivery after being put back twice from mid sept to early oct and now end oct. i havent seen much on the net about the bike but what i have seen looks really good. im looking for customer/owner reviews on the bike and would appreciate if anyone has seen any reviews from owners of the new scooter (branded gts in europe) so i can see what owners think of this scooter and if its gonna be as good as i hope.

Hey Chris! Welcome to the forum! Suffice it to say that i am jealous of your purchase! I have the 2011 GTS Evo 125i which i love..but the new version does look pretty damn swish.
I'm afraid this forum is still new so at the moment your the first person to join so far, so its just me and you..but i plan to do a bit of advertising around to see if i can get the group more members. Things may be slow at first...but hopefully they should pick up soon. All i can tell you is i love what they have done with my GTS Evo, so i can only imagine its much better with the new model...it will be worth the wait.
As for the Symphony SR another pretty swish bike. I always thought it looked a lot like my old 2003 SYM Euro MX.
Welcome again!

ill help spread the news when and where i can about this site to help it grow.
im new to scooting, only been on a bike 10 months but im ready to move up. i was going to get an evo myself but they told me the line is being discontinued so i thought the next upgrade would be my best option.
ive researched where i can about this bike but havent seen any customer or user reviews as yet. i have links to sites who review the bike tho and im willing to put these up if youd like me to. if you find anywhere that has customer and user reviews, please share the link with me, im trying to get a feel of the bike in wetter conditions.
as for the symphony, love the bike but feel its too passive for me, im going to want to visit family and mates in sheffield and feel that the new bike would be better for that kind of trip.
hope this site gets as big as i know it could do. would be great to get fellow syms to share information and experiences.

Would be great if you could do that! The Joymax 2012 model is a new line. You may have already seen it but here is the SYM promo video.
As for rainy conditions, the bike appears to be exactly the same as mine in shape, so i imagine it will be much the same, a low centre of gravity and excellent grip. Still, i try not to lean so much in wet conditions as the bike is really rather heavy. Mine came with Maxxis Pro tyres which provided the grip and i'd recommend keeping the high end tyres when you need to change them. Braking is excellent in both wet and dry conditions (i'm not sure if the new model GTS comes with ABS, as i know they have started incorporating it into the later models such as the MAXSYM). As i said before i'm jealous, especially with the warm air blower and the USB socket! I have the 12v charger but no USB. I was also disappointed to find out that the 125cc 2011 didnt come with the foglights!
And please feel free to share the links in the forum specifically for the bike!

I never had a problem with the Maxxis Pro tyres. I did have to have the rear tyre changed due to wear as part of my 12 month service though. I now have an Avon tyre on the rear has given me no problems thus far.
SYM seem to like penalising the 125cc model riders as i said my 125cc came lacking the foglights but neglecting to mention it on the website or anywhere else i looked before my purchase. So it will be a real shame and an obvious trend on the part of SYM should your bike come without them!
As for the brakes, my models brakes are absolutely super and they were on the old Euro MX too! Which is something that SYM seem to be quite good at. I especially like the in-line braking (i think its called that, where you pull the rear brake and it applies the brakes at the front too just at a lesser amount) makes bringing the bike to a stop relatively painless. I feel that the ABS model would be better, especially in the wet, as with any bike you need to know your bikes braking limit in the wet or you will end up with a lock-up which is never a good thing. So i recommend doing some slow speed tests with it in the wet and dry and seeing at which point the tyre locks up so you know the limits!

cheers mate,
already seen this review, it was the first one i saw, you can see the full review online at the magazine website but the others i posted have tests of the bike too. noone in uk has really done a full and comprehensive review to my knowledge.
cheers for keeping an eye out anyway, still havent seen any customer or user feedback up to now tho.
